Lily Wei

Lily is an artist, researcher, and educator with art curation and administration experiences. Born in Albany, New York and raised in Taipei, she studied Fine Art in Los Angeles and in Nottingham, England. Her practice spans from participatory performance art to mixed-media works.

 

Wei holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Arts with a Visual Arts and Performance Studies focus. Her research synthesizes global/Asian contemporary art, urban sociology, Participatory Art, human rights, and Protest Art. The use of art to facilitate social transformation and personal healing remains the core of Wei’s exploration.

 

She dreams to establish a community arts center that serves underprivileged youths and the homeless. Since August 2016, Lily serves as Assistant Professor at the Center for General Education, Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan.
