Hunger  Project

Jelatirivy

Initial idea-definition

Hunger is an uncomfortable or painful physical sensation caused by insufficient dietary energy consumption. It becomes chronic when the person does not consume sufficient calories (dietary energy) regularly to lead a normal, active, and healthy life.

People are food insecure when they lack regular access to enough safe and nutritious food for average growth and development and active and healthy life. This may be due to the unavailability of food and/or lack of resources to obtain food. Food insecurity can be experienced at different levels of severity.

Purpose-
WHY IT MATTERS TO “NO HUNGER”

DEVELOPMENTAL RISKS:

  • Health: Face lifelong health problems.

  • Education: Have more difficulty learning in school.

  • Social status: Earn less over their lifetime. They are less able to support their families.

  • Difficulty: Have more difficulty bearing and raising healthy children. Their children are more likely to be malnourished in early childhood. And a harmful cycle continues.

Concept- inspired

CAUSES:

  • Conflict: 60 percent of the world’s hungry people live in zones affected by conflict, which is the main driver in 8 out of 10 of the worst hunger crises. For example war.

  • Poverty: People living in poverty frequently face household food insecurity.

  • Weather: impacted food availability -> Economic downturns.

SOLUTIONS:

  • Food and nutrition assistance: With the help of local partners, using all-terrain vehicles and dropping food from planes when all other avenues are closed.

  • Investment in the agriculture sector: reducing hunger and poverty, improving food security, creating employment, and building resilience to disasters and shocks.

Message: Awareness

Our hunger project mainly delivered the point: "contrast"

A world with zero hunger can positively impact our economies, health, education, equality, and social development.

The poor easily get upset because of hungry. In my opinion, when I get upset, I would like to see the sea, which made me feel better and more peaceful. As long as seeing the sea, there are lots of complicated feelings that emerge in my mind and one of which is that I desire freedom. I consider that the poor also have the same feeling as me that they want to run away from reality or live a normal life for a living.

The clearest contrast is between North America and Africa.  North America has the world's most significant food waste, and Africa has the highest percentage of hungry people.

Where food is less scarce, trash cans represent waste; where food is scarce it symbolizes hunger.

In the physical hunger, we assume that people around the world are using the same trash can but the situation is totally different. One is too skinny to live, and another is quite enough for a living but wastes a lot. One is in Africa, another is in America. Ridiculously, The person on the right is picking up all the person on the left has wasted. Furthermore, it is surprising that they are both under mental hunger but one desires to have something and another desire to have more.
